I was reading something somewhere about the writers 'blank page', so I got over this by rebranding it.
Rather than start with a 'blank page', begin with a full page of copied text from any random inspired source. Here goes:
1 - Find some text, copy & paste to Word / Pages
2 - Use the 'Find & Replace' function and use as your muse sees fit
3 - Now select a paragraph from the rebranded text
4 - Then rearrange into a piece of prose or poetry
5 - stand back and admire
